End of the Month
09:22 Thu 30th Nov 2006 (GMT +9 Seoul)
As you would have noticed there have been no posts for a while (sorry Darlene). Its been a busy month, so I'll try and bring you up to speed.
As most of you know its now moving into winter, only one more chance for a trip into the mountains to see the beautiful fall colors before the dull grayness engulfs us for what seems to be the longest part of the year. So Tom, Alexis, Katie and I ventured off in the first weekend of November to Saraksan National Park where we took in the beauty that is often taken forgotten whilst living in the concrete jungle that is Korea. Two days of fresh mountain air can revive ones attitude toward work amazingly well.
I'm not going to go into detail about our trip other than to say that venturing out with our good friend Tom and Alexis always ends up in a weekend of laughs and good times. Thanks guys.
To read more about this trip and see a very interesting photo of me rising a horse visit Toms Blog - The Irish Keep Gate-Crashing. Well worth the read.

On with the rest of the month. As you would have previously read in my last blog, I have thrown in the towel as a teacher to pursue my online business ideas. After lengthy discussions with Katie we decided to relocate to Bundang which is a satellite city (much like Bucheon) on the other side of Seoul. Why do this you ask? At present Kt has a one and half hour commute to work from here in Bucheon and I didn't see the point in her doing this when I was no longer tied to a job here. Bundang, only 30 minutes subway from her work and is also one of the nicest cities here, commonly referred to as the Beverly Hills of Seoul. Unfortunately the cost of living is substantially more. Go figure, I quit my job and we move to one of the most expensive areas.
This has meant that the majority of our weekends have been spent tripping down to Bundang to look at apartments. I'm proud to say that Katie and I managed with the little Korean that we know to find a place and have since signed a one year rental agreement. More will follow on the Bundang adventure next year. See the picture in the righthand corner of the blog for a view of the outside of our new building.
That brings us to this week. Last Sunday we had the second annual Thanksgiving dinner at Tims. A big shout out to Tim and Chris for once again feeding an army with nothing less than gourmet food. This years turkey was so big that it was only able to fit in the oven after thoroughly defrosting.
And now here we are, the last day of the month which has turned out to be the first snow day, well more like a dusting of slushy icy stuff, but pretty close. Only 24 days until I venture to the USA for a true wintry Xmas.
